i have been working away leaning myself some python development to enable me to write applications for gnome the desktop that i love. as it turns out, it’s pretty much a slog. python is an awesome language to learn, fast development, but gtk+ and gnome development has some quirks which take some getting used to.
it’s my intention is to document here my experiences, so that other people who are looking to get going in this area can learn a little from my mistakes. i have written plugins for editors, which i use at work, and i am well pleased with the progress of this.. i have also started a book player to make listening to audio books and radio shows a bit more intuitive than normal players which are designed to play music. the idea being things like book covers, bookmarking for each book.
so, keep your peeps peeled for the little posts here which should document both the progress being made, as well as the actual code going into them.
