I have seen similar stats before, but this BBC article on a report from the tories shows that statistically marriage is better, and for children born in marriage stand a better chance socially. To put it simply:
- God: 1
- World: 0

Yes, because if there is one thing that the Bible is big on it’s acquiring statistical evidence to back up God’s teachings.
And you have it as God vs World? Here was me thinking we were His creation and that he loved us all wholly and unconditionally. Turns out He’s on the side of the righteous evangelicals who can’t abide the concept of others living their lives differently to them.
I think you’re taking my God Vs World in a more hostile way that it was intended. I was merely referring to the wisdom of God, vs the conventional wisdom of the world (i.e that it’s better to live together and see if it works out, than to keep that for marriage, which in actual fact results in more stable relationships). Obviously both types of relationships have their failures and successes, but the original article was pointing out that the stable in marriage type tends towards the more successful.
