Another site I’ve discovered which is along the lines of css zen garden, but for 3d artists, cgsphere. It’s amazing, and somewhat paradoxical, how limiting someone’s freedom in design can force some real innovation. Laura and I have found this with our card making, I’m dying to get some more colours and textures to work with, and she’s determined that it forces different ideas upon us when we have to work with what we’ve got.
The idea is simply to create a 3d scene which is a sphere on a backdrop.
Some of my favourite designs that I’ve seen so far (although there’s thousands and I can’t spend all day looking at them include: my turn, fabergsphere, franken-ball, cgrowth, don’t tread, corals, ikeaSVEER, tea ball, wine glass, and finally ausfera, which I would quite happily have at the bottom of my garden as a bit of a retreat, if I had the space.
