1990-1995: Microsoft’s Yellow Road to Cairo

1990-1995: Microsoft’s Yellow Road to Cairo is a great article by a tech guy detailing just how much hot air Microsoft is, and we suck it up…  They keep promising things which exist on other operating systems for year before they produce some half-assed lame version that doesn’t even work.  Yet we get conned into it.

As it happens, I don’t.  I have been a linux user for about 9/10 years now, and have even the pleasure of never using windows XP in my personal computer use..  I have to touch it now and then, but rarely and I get away as soon as possible.  The new windows, “VISTA” will be as crap, and the new stuff they’re making such a big deal about, I’ve had since I started using linux, or rapidly after as technology has grown.  Nice flashy graphics, well I can spin all my 10 virtual desktops about my cube, throw my wobbly windows about, and I have been able to do this for over a year and a half now..

Want goodness that’s tried and tested now rather than a broken os?  Try ubuntu.  My dad uses it where he can, and is kicking and screaming to free himself from windows asap.  There’s lots of cool “freedom” reasons to go for this software as well, and that’s “free” as in speech, as well as in beer.
