This article “Green Party – Real Progress” is by the green party. They’re not happy with all the paranoid stuff in VISTA which results in perfectly capable hardware being unable to run Vista, thus landfill fodder.
Note this isn’t paranoid on your behalf protecting you from nasty stuff, this is paranoid on the behalf of the music and film industry watching what you do. Very interesting read for non-techies. Hopefully people will eventually understand that freedom in software is incredibly important to your future rights.
If the US decided to go to war with the UK (for whatever reason in the future), all the windows Vista PCs would be shut down immediately, and maybe it wouldn’t be war.. Look at the stuff with Russia and their oil pipeline crippling other countries at will.. Believe it or not, this is possible with Vista..
