Monty Don has stroke

This saddens me.  He’s been missed on Gardener’s world the past few weeks.  Now we learn that he’d had a stroke and will no longer be presenting at all.

I will miss monty, I trust his gardening presence greatly..   No word on who will take [...]

Thirsty Plant Notice

This design which makes Plants Fall Over When Thirsty could be the key to not killing all my houseplants.

Preservation

Spent this weekend preseving my tomatoes from the greenhouse.  I made among other things:

Roast Tomato & Courgette soup with curly kale (3 nice large jars, two servings in each)
Roast Tomato Pasta Sauce with garlic and basil (3 large jars with pasta maybe 4 servings)
Sweet Tomato Chutney (this was lovely with ham in a toasted sandwich) [...]

Sun and Global Warming

According to: BBC NEWS | Sunspots reaching 1,000-year high.  So increasing sunspot activity == increased earth temperatures.   But it’s still our fault because our pollution is making things worse.  Hmm..  Time will only tell what the deal is and how daft scientists assumptions really were.  I wonder what would happen if the temperature starts [...]
